Field Companion (1084)

This knife features a 1084 high carbon steel blade, etched in ferric chloride and stonewashed. The ferric chloride treatment induces a "forced patina," which not only enhances the blade's aesthetics but also provides a protective layer against rust and oxidation.

The handle is made from mahogany, complemented by black G10 liners, stainless steel pins, and a stainless steel lanyard tube. The lanyard is made from black paracord, tied in a snake knot and finished with a mahogany bead and diamond knot.

Accompanying the knife is a handmade taco-style leather sheath, featuring a stamped honeycomb pattern, designed for belt carry.

Care Instructions:

Cleaning: Always hand wash with mild soap and warm water. Never use a dishwasher.

Drying: Immediately dry the knife thoroughly with a soft cloth to prevent moisture from causing rust.

Oiling: Apply a thin layer of food-safe oil, such as mineral oil, to the blade after drying. This helps create a protective barrier against moisture and oxidation.

Storage: Store the knife in a dry environment. If using the leather sheath, ensure the blade is dry and oiled before sheathing to avoid trapping moisture.
